This was the stock's second consecutive day of losses. Exxon Mobil Corp. closed $7.22 short of its 52-week high ($66.38), which the company reached on November 8th.

The stock underperformed when compared to some of its competitors Monday, as Chevron Corp. CVX, +1.40% rose 0.04% to $113.65. Trading volume (21.6 M) eclipsed its 50-day average volume of 19.9 M.
