25 Jan 2022: Federal Reserve Meeting this week!

Its the Federal Reserve meeting this week. Even before the meeting, the US markets are getting so jittery that at one point last night, US tech broad market fell by almost 5%. It has not been the case since March 2020 when we saw a single day with so high percentage fall for broad markets.

you would note that I have cautioned myself against chasing the buy the dip strategy. To me, there isnt a rush to add shares aggressively. Even for companies like Sea Limited, it has tanked from over 370 USD all the way to almost 132 USD yesterday. At its lowest intraday low, it had fallen by over 12%...

This is not the time to be a hero to prove the markets and my friends wrong. At the same time, Chinese tech listed in US and Hong Kong were not spared when we saw them falling yesterday during US timing as well as this morning and afternoon in Hong Kong trading day..

I would think the weakness will continue into the Federal Reserve meeting until the very last minute to see if Federal Reserve will come in to support the markets. Now markets are saying that Federal Reserve they themselves have forced themselves into a "dead corner" that given the high inflation problem, there is not much room to support the markets via extending the low rates for longer time duration. I cant predict the exact outcome but I think given the price pressure of US tech, there is no need for me to buy them yet. I will continue to add selected good chinese tech. I will be releasing a youtube video on some of the Chinese tech stocks that I own.
