reported on Sunday.\nWhat Happened:The Taiwan-based Apple supplier, better known as Foxconn, reportedly plans to build electric vehicles and batteries in Indonesia, both for two and four-wheelers.\nThe investment, if it goes through, would be a huge boost for Indonesia as it looks to diversify itself as a key player in the global electric vehicle supply chain.\nFoxconn chairman Young Liu met Indonesia's Investment Coordinating Board, as per the report.\nWhy It Matters:Foxconn last week revealed three electric vehicle prototypes that include a sedan, a sports utility vehicle and bus, and said it aims to turn electric vehicles into a $35 billion business in five years.\nThe Apple supplier had earlier this month confirmed a deal with pre-production electric vehicle startup Lordstown Motors to buy its Ohio assembly plant and build electric vehicles there for its partner Fisker Inc.\nIndonesia is also the largest producer of nickel, a key ingredient used in making electric vehicle batteries.\nPrice Action:Foxconn shares closed marginally higher at $7.79 a share on Friday.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"AAPL":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":2192,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":858135332,"gmtCreate":1635001808351,"gmtModify":1635001808540,"author":{"id":"4093051399756810","authorId":"4093051399756810","name":"relaxlah","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4093051399756810","idStr":"4093051399756810"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"like Spanx founder Sara Blakely will maintain a significant stake in the company and will continue to oversee operations. She will become the company’s executive chairwoman when the deal closes.\nMs. Blakely, who founded the company in 2000 with $5,000 she earned from selling fax machines in her hometown of Clearwater, Fla., was inspired to create shapewear made from comfortable hosiery material when she couldn’t find anything that would conceal her undergarments under a pair of cream-colored pants.\nShe cut the legs off a pair of control-top pantyhose, and the idea for Spanx was born. The product was an immediate hit with women, becoming a well-known branddespite not advertising for the first 16 years of its existence.\nThe company now makes other forms of apparel and activewear, in addition to its signature line of shapewear. Ms. Blakely said she wanted to join with Blackstone to continue to expand that product line and to push further into global markets.\n“People have been asking me for 20 years when I will sell Spanx, and for 20 years I have said I’ll just know,” Ms. Blakely said. “I operate very much based on instinct.”\nMs. Blakely, who years ago pledged to “advocate for women through products,” worked with an all-female deal team at Blackstone, led by Managing Director Ann Chung. The lawyers who worked on the deal were also women, and the company has pledged to appoint an all-women board.\n“Sara is an iconic founder and has built this brand that we consider to be a household brand,” said Ms. Chung, who oversees consumer deals for Blackstone’s growth business. “Most women in the U.S. today have some Spanx in their closet.”\nMs. Chung said Blackstone was attracted to Spanx’s digital prowess—the company gets two-thirds of its sales through its website—and to the value of the technology it uses to make its products. She said there was a significant opportunity to expand the business by ramping up marketing.\nThe deal for Spanx is Blackstone’s latest move to back a woman-run business. The firm investedinBumbleInc.,run by Whitney Wolfe Herd, which went public earlier this year. It also backed Reese Witherspoon’s media company Hello Sunshine ina deal announced in August.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"BX":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":4041,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":859953916,"gmtCreate":1634651886259,"gmtModify":1634652148284,"author":{"id":"4093051399756810","authorId":"4093051399756810","name":"relaxlah","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4093051399756810","idStr":"4093051399756810"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"like","listText":"like","text":"like","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/859953916","repostId":"1112248349","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1112248349","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1634643115,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1112248349?lang=zh_CN&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-10-19 Ten years ago, Steve Jobs died, and at the time Ipondered how he’d be remembered. In the intervening years, his most notable product–Apple itself–has risen to unimaginable levels of power and influence.\nThe fact that so much of Apple’s growth has happened since Jobs’s departure hasn’t reduced him at all. It would be relatively easy to argue that the success of Tim Cook’s Apple suggests that, despite everyone’s concern in the late days of 2011, the company actuallycouldgo on without Jobs at the helm. But that’s not what anyone thinks. Instead, Jobs is credited for putting Apple on the path that led to it becoming what it is today.\nThe 10 years before\nOn October 5, 2001, 10 years before Jobs passed away, Apple is busy digging itself out of an enormous hole. Jobs returned to the company with the purchase of NeXT in late 1996, assumed the reins of power in mid-1997, and four years later his big accomplishment is mostly that Apple hasn’t gone out of business yet. Thanks to the iMac G3, the company had a financial lifeline that has allowed it to renovate the rest of the Mac product line, get an entirely new Mac OSout the door, and begin expanding into retail.\nThis is a very different Apple than the one that most people remember, an invisible era where Jobs was furiously throwing ideas at the wall to see what would stick. (A server! Acube-shaped Power Mac!) This Apple was not afraid of failure. It wasn’t afraid of looking foolish. It was, in fact, completely embracing the fact that it would need to keep trying and be willing to fail in order to find where it might succeed.\nOne of those wild ideas ended up saving the company.\nApple had been struggling for years. Then the iPod came along to start a string of successes that made the company what it is today.\nTen years before Steve Jobs died, he and his team were putting the finishing touches on the new product they’d be introducing a couple of weeks later.
