That may spell more bad news for a Cathie Wood fund that’s already slid more than 20% this year.\nFunds at Cathie Wood’s Ark Investment Management snatched up shares of the biotech company and another gene-editing peer Intellia Therapeutics Inc. ahead of Crispr’s results. ARK Investment Management is a top holder in Crispr, Intellia and Editas Medicine Inc., all of which use gene-editing technology known as Crispr.\nCrispr fell after its CAR-T cell therapy cleared cancer cells in nine patients out of 24. Investors were hoping the so-called “off the shelf” treatment made from healthy donor cells would work better than existing therapies.\nIn the days leading up to the results the ARK Genomic Revolution ETF, or ARKG, and Wood’s flagship fund, the ARK Innovation (ARKK) added to positions in Crisp and Intellia. While Intellia rallied after positive results with partner and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc., other stocks in the gene-editing sector have performed poorly this year as safety concerns and other setbacks hampered sentiment.\nThe ARK Genomic Revolution has peeled off 22% so far this year while ARKK has dropped 10%.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"CRSP":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1086,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":826505884,"gmtCreate":1634033116394,"gmtModify":1634036558291,"author":{"id":"3572914809308233","authorId":"3572914809308233","name":"raidou","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d897c7c5c5ab650d7cee80180e68677f","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3572914809308233","idStr":"3572914809308233"},"themes":[],"title":"","htmlText":"Like and comment pleass","listText":"Like and comment pleass","text":"Like and comment pleass","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/826505884","repostId":"1199301040","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1199301040","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1634030030,"share":"https://www.laohunote.com/m/news/1199301040?lang=zh_CN&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-10-12 17:13","market":"us","language":"en","title":"As Shortages Rage, Here Are 14 Chip Stocks With at Least 30% Upside<blockquote>随着短缺肆虐,以下是 14 只至少有 30% 上涨空间的芯片股</blockquote>","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1199301040","media":"Barrons","summary":"The global semiconductor shortage that’s been a pain in many people’s necks throughout this year is going to last 2022. Namely, the issues that industries are experiencing as staffing shortages impact the supply chain, which could hurt the ability of retailers to get enough goods to sell to consumers this holiday season.\nAs earnings season kicks off this week, analysts expect that S&P 500 earnings will increase 27.6% year over year, which seems strong until you compare it with the two previous quarters -- earnings increased 52.8% in the first quarter and 92.4% in the second quarter, as companies lapped the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Hunt Transfer Services Inc. is the type of player you will need to watch this season to understand the depth and length of the current supply-chain woes.\n\n\nThe trucking industry has been on an extreme uptick as the goods coming into ports need to move across continents, but staffing issues have become a larger concern, as has the longevity of the increase.\n\"Investor sentiment is increasingly of the belief that every record quarter that passes brings the trucking upturn one quarter closer to peaking and the inevitable downturn; yet, that important inflection point keeps getting pushed to the right, with the stronger-for-longer freight backdrop showing no end in sight,\" Evercore ISI analysts wrote last week.\nLook for earnings from JB Hunt on Friday morning for more insight.\n\n\nDelta. Delta Air Lines Inc. will be the first airline to report this quarter, and could be a harbinger of things to come this holiday travel season. As MarketWatch explained in-depth about this earnings season, the good numbers shared in recent months by companies in specific sectors — especially travel — should be taken with a very large grain of salt due to the potential dangers ahead. Pay close attention with Delta reports Wednesday morning for signs on other airlines and the travel industry as a whole.\n\n\nThis week in earnings\nFour of the 30 Dow Jones Industrial Average components are on track to report this week, while 18 S&P 500 companies are expected to reveal numbers. The rally came despite concerns about the spread of the delta variant of the coronavirus and unease about the timetable for an eventual rollback of easy-money policies implemented by the Federal Reserve at the onset of the pandemic last year.\nOn Monday, U.S. stock exchanges, including the Intercontinental Exchange Inc. -owned New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Inc.,will be closed, so don’t look for any action in individual stocks or indexes including the Dow Jones Industrial Average, S&P 500 or Nasdaq Composite indexes.\nThe S&P 500 has already notched 54 record closing highs in 2021 and was looking for its 55th on Friday, while the Nasdaq Composite was on track to book its 35th all-time high of the year. The Dow stood less than a percentage point from its Aug. 16 record, mid-afternoon Friday.\nSifma, the securities-industry trade group for fixed-income, also has recommended the bond market close on Labor Day, including trading in the 10-year Treasury note, which was yielding around 1.33% after the U.S. August jobs report came in weaker than expected.\nHowever, the Labor Department’s employment report, which showed that 235,000 jobs were created in August, far below expectations for more than 700,000, failed to dull expectations among sovereign debt investors for a near-term announcement of tapering of the Fed’s $120 billion in monthly purchases in Treasurys and mortgage-backed securities.\nTrading in most commodity futures, including Nymex crude-oil and Comex gold,on U.S. exchanges will also be halted Monday.\nIs there any significance to the holiday for average investors, besides the time off in the U.S. and the barbecues?\nProbably not.\nBut the May Memorial Day to September Labor Day period in recent years has proven a bullish stretch one for investors, according to Dow Jones Market Data. The Dow, for example, is up by about 2% over that period and averages a gain of 1.3%, producing a winning record 65% of the time. The Dow is currently enjoying a win streak, over the past six Memorial Day/Labor Day periods, representing the longest win streak since 1989. Last year, the markets gained nearly 15% over that time.\nDOW JONES MARKET DATA\nThe S&P 500 is on a similar win streak and is up nearly 8% so far this Memorial Day-Labor Day period. It has risen more than 70% over that period in past years and averages a 1.7% gain. The broad-market index rose 16% during that time in 2020.\nDOW JONES MARKET DATA\nBut if there is a bona fide trend in the Labor Day trading it may be this one that MarketWatch’s Steve Goldstein reports, quoting Raymond James strategist Tavis McCourt, who says that in the last two years, there was a big value and cyclical bias in stock markets after the holiday, and in 2018, markets basically collapsed after the summer drew to a close.\nIt is impossible to know if the stock market rally will peter out similarly this time around but there is a growing sense on Wall Street that valuations are too lofty and equity indexes are due for a pullback of at least 5% or better from current heights.\nMarkets will be back to business as usual on Tuesday and, of course, European bourses, including London’s FTSE 100 index and the pan-European Stoxx Europe 600 will be open on Monday, as well as Asian markets, the Nikkei 225,Hong Kong’s Hang Seng and the Shanghai Composite
