The European markets were down and the U.S. bourses were mixed and the Asian markets figure to split the difference.\nThe STI finished slightly lower on Friday following weakness from the properties, industrial stocks and financial shares.\nFor the day, the index dipped 4.68 points or 0.14 percent to finish at 3,232.34 after trading between 3,227.06 and 3,238.97. Volume was 1.69 billion shares worth 1.02 billion Singapore dollars. There were 239 decliners and 222 gainers.\nAmong the actives, CapitaLand Integrated Commercial Trust gained 0.46 percent, while City Developments tanked 0.97 percent, Comfort DelGro added 0.66 percent, Dairy Farm International tumbled 0.90 percent, DBS Group was up 0.03 percent, Genting Singapore declined 0.60 percent, Keppel Corp lost 0.19 percent, Mapletree Commercial Trust advanced 0.94 percent, Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation fell 0.17 percent, SATS sank 0.48 percent, SembCorp Industries skidded 0.49 percent, Singapore Airlines retreated 0.75 percent, Singapore Exchange shed 0.21 percent, Singapore Press Holdings dropped 0.42 percent, Singapore Technologies Engineering surrendered 0.75 percent, SingTel plunged 1.19 percent, United Overseas Bank eased 0.04 percent, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding plummeted 1.56 percent and Wilmar International, Mapletree Logistics Trust, Ascendas REIT and Thai Beverage were unchanged.\nThe lead from Wall Street is mixed as the Dow opened lower on Friday and stayed that way and the NASDAQ opened higher and closed at a record high. The S&P 500 opened slightly lower, bounced back and forth across the unchanged line and ended slightly in the red.\nThe Dow dropped 268.92 points or 0.75 percent to finish at 35,601.98, while the NASDAQ added 63.74 points or 0.40 percent to close at 16,057.44 and the S&P 500 eased 6.58 points or 0.14 percent to end at 4,697.96. For the week, the NASDAQ jumped 1.2 percent, the S&P rise 0.3 percent and the Dow lost 1.4 percent.\nRenewed COVID-19 concerns weighed on cyclical stocks as a brutal fourth wave of the coronavirus pandemic sweeps across Europe. Austria has announced a full national COVID-19 lockdown starting today, while Germany has announced more restrictions on unvaccinated people.\nThe potential of more European countries reinstating full lockdowns sparked worries the pandemic could once again weigh down the global economy.\nMeanwhile, the tech-heavy NASDAQ benefitted from continued strength among technology stocks following some upbeat earnings news from companies such as software firm Intuit (INTU) and cybersecurity company Palo Alto Networks (PANW).\nCrude oil prices plunged sharply on Friday amid rising concerns about the outlook for energy demand following a surge in COVID-19 cases and fresh restrictions in some European countries. West Texas Intermediate Crude oil futures for December settled at $75.94 a barrel, losing $2.47 or 3.2 percent.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":345,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":876713899,"gmtCreate":1637363854288,"gmtModify":1637363854687,"author":{"id":"3579657215684313","authorId":"3579657215684313","name":"Benly8","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/80f36222b1c1982caf217686d5a8431f","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Where is WKHS","listText":"Where is WKHS","text":"Where is WKHS","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/876713899","repostId":"1190357165","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1190357165","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1637335635,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1190357165?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-11-19 23:27","market":"us","language":"en","title":"EV stocks bounced in morning trading, with Lucid jumping nearly 12% and Rivian rising over 6% ","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1190357165","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"EV stocks bounced in morning trading, with Lucid jumping nearly 12% and Rivian rising over 6%.Apple is back front and center of the talk in the electric vehicle sector with Bloomberg reporting the tech giant is targeting a launch of a self-driving car in four years. The Straits Times Index now sits just above the 3,240-point plateau and it figures to remain rangebound on Tuesday.
\n
The global forecast for the Asian markets offers little clarity amid a lack of catalysts, although mild support from crude oil prices should limit any downside. The European markets were slightly higher and the U.S. bourses were barely lower and the Asian markets figure to split the difference.
\n
The STI finished modestly higher on Monday following gains from the financial shares and industrial issues.
\n
For the day, the index added 12.13 points or 0.38 percent to finish at 3,240.58 after trading between 3,222.47 and 3,241.85. Volume was 1.9 billion shares worth 1.1 billion Singapore dollars. There were 244 gainers and 211 decliners. Among the actives, Ascendas REIT improved 0.32 percent, while CapitaLand Integrated Commercial Trust rose 0.46 percent, Comfort DelGro sank 0.66 percent, Dairy Farm International lost 0.30 percent, DBS Group and Venture Group both gained 0.47 percent, Genting Singapore added 0.61 percent, Keppel Corp increased 0.38 percent, Mapletree Logistics Trust perked 0.51 percent, Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation gathered 0.59 percent, SATS tumbled 0.97 percent, SembCorp Industries dropped 0.49 percent, Singapore Airlines soared 0.94 percent, Singapore Exchange dipped 0.10 percent, Singapore Technologies Engineering surged 1.55 percent, Thai Beverage advanced 0.69 percent, United Overseas Bank collected 0.40 percent, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding spiked 0.78 percent and CapitaLand, City Developments, Jardine Cycle, Wilmar International, Mapletree Commercial Trust, Singapore Press Holdings and SingTel were unchanged.
\n
The lead from Wall Street is of little help as the major averages opened higher on Monday but quickly faded, spending the rest of the session hugging the unchanged line and ending barely in the red.
\n
The Dow shed 12.86 points or 0.04 percent to finish at 36,087.45, while the NASDAQ dipped 7.11 points or 0.04 percent to close at 15,853.85 and the S&P 500 eased 0.05 points or 0.00 percent to end at 4,682.80.
\n
The choppy trading on Wall Street came as traders expressed some uncertainty about the near-term outlook for the markets.
\n
Concerns about inflation continued to weigh on investors' minds after last week's report showing consumer prices increased at their fastest annual rate in over thirty years in October. The Straits Times Index now sits just above the 3,240-point plateau and it figures to remain rangebound on Tuesday.\nThe global forecast for the Asian markets offers little clarity amid a lack of catalysts, although mild support from crude oil prices should limit any downside. The European markets were slightly higher and the U.S. bourses were barely lower and the Asian markets figure to split the difference.\nThe STI finished modestly higher on Monday following gains from the financial shares and industrial issues.\nFor the day, the index added 12.13 points or 0.38 percent to finish at 3,240.58 after trading between 3,222.47 and 3,241.85. Volume was 1.9 billion shares worth 1.1 billion Singapore dollars. There were 244 gainers and 211 decliners. Among the actives, Ascendas REIT improved 0.32 percent, while CapitaLand Integrated Commercial Trust rose 0.46 percent, Comfort DelGro sank 0.66 percent, Dairy Farm International lost 0.30 percent, DBS Group and Venture Group both gained 0.47 percent, Genting Singapore added 0.61 percent, Keppel Corp increased 0.38 percent, Mapletree Logistics Trust perked 0.51 percent, Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation gathered 0.59 percent, SATS tumbled 0.97 percent, SembCorp Industries dropped 0.49 percent, Singapore Airlines soared 0.94 percent, Singapore Exchange dipped 0.10 percent, Singapore Technologies Engineering surged 1.55 percent, Thai Beverage advanced 0.69 percent, United Overseas Bank collected 0.40 percent, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding spiked 0.78 percent and CapitaLand, City Developments, Jardine Cycle, Wilmar International, Mapletree Commercial Trust, Singapore Press Holdings and SingTel were unchanged.\nThe lead from Wall Street is of little help as the major averages opened higher on Monday but quickly faded, spending the rest of the session hugging the unchanged line and ending barely in the red.\nThe Dow shed 12.86 points or 0.04 percent to finish at 36,087.45, while the NASDAQ dipped 7.11 points or 0.04 percent to close at 15,853.85 and the S&P 500 eased 0.05 points or 0.00 percent to end at 4,682.80.\nThe choppy trading on Wall Street came as traders expressed some uncertainty about the near-term outlook for the markets.\nConcerns about inflation continued to weigh on investors' minds after last week's report showing consumer prices increased at their fastest annual rate in over thirty years in October. The elevated pace of inflation has led to worries that the Federal Reserve might be forced to accelerate its plans to begin tightening monetary policy.\nIn U.S. economic news, the New York Federal Reserve reported that New York manufacturing activity grew strongly in November.\nCrude oil futures settled marginally higher Monday after plunging earlier in the session on expectations of higher supplies and weakening demand. The stock’s recent run has been incredible. How high can it go?
\n
Tesla (ticker: TSLA) stock closed at $909.68, up about 1.8%. The S&P 500 dropped about 0.1%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average added about 0.2%.
\n
Shares of the electric-vehicle giant have been boosted by strong deliveries and earnings. Shares also got a boost Friday from a credit upgrade at S&P. Tesla debt is now BB+ rated, one notch below investment grade.
\n
Tesla stock’s new 52-week intraday high is $910 on the nose. The old high-water mark of $900.40 was set on Jan. 25, according to Dow Jones Market Data. On Thursday, Tesla closed at a record for the first time since Jan. 26.
\n
Shares are up about 40% over the past three months, pushing the market cap to roughly $910 billion. (Tesla has about 1 billion shares outstanding, making the math easy.)
\n
Bulls, naturally, see more gains ahead. Wedbush analyst Dan Ives raised his bull-case Tesla stock price target to $1,500 from $1,300 after the company reported better-than-expected earnings on Wednesday.
\n
“Tesla is rising because earnings revisions are soaring,” points out Gary Black, managing partner of the Future Fund Active exchange-traded fund. Analyst estimates for Tesla’s 2022 earnings have risen to about $8 a share from $6 over the past few weeks. “Rising estimates drove Tesla to the moon in 2020. They will drive Tesla to $1,000-plus in 2022,” Black says.
\n
Ives rates Tesla stock Buy, and Tesla is the largest position in Black’s fund.
\n
Yes, there are still Tesla bears out there who believe the stock is overvalued. The bottom third of analyst price targets averages about $425, less than half of Friday’s close.
\n
Bears expect the sky-high valuation to give investors pause eventually. Stocks don’t usually fall just because investors, collectively, wake up one morning and feel differently about valuation. Something has to happen. The overall market could tumble, or the business could trip up. Analysts expect Tesla deliveries to grow to 1.3 million units in 2022 from about 890,000 units in 2021. The stock’s recent run has been incredible. How high can it go?\nTesla (ticker: TSLA) stock closed at $909.68, up about 1.8%. The S&P 500 dropped about 0.1%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average added about 0.2%.\nShares of the electric-vehicle giant have been boosted by strong deliveries and earnings. Shares also got a boost Friday from a credit upgrade at S&P. Tesla debt is now BB+ rated, one notch below investment grade.\nTesla stock’s new 52-week intraday high is $910 on the nose. The old high-water mark of $900.40 was set on Jan. 25, according to Dow Jones Market Data. On Thursday, Tesla closed at a record for the first time since Jan. 26.\nShares are up about 40% over the past three months, pushing the market cap to roughly $910 billion. (Tesla has about 1 billion shares outstanding, making the math easy.)\nBulls, naturally, see more gains ahead. Wedbush analyst Dan Ives raised his bull-case Tesla stock price target to $1,500 from $1,300 after the company reported better-than-expected earnings on Wednesday.\n“Tesla is rising because earnings revisions are soaring,” points out Gary Black, managing partner of the Future Fund Active exchange-traded fund. Analyst estimates for Tesla’s 2022 earnings have risen to about $8 a share from $6 over the past few weeks. “Rising estimates drove Tesla to the moon in 2020. They will drive Tesla to $1,000-plus in 2022,” Black says.\nIves rates Tesla stock Buy, and Tesla is the largest position in Black’s fund.\nYes, there are still Tesla bears out there who believe the stock is overvalued. The bottom third of analyst price targets averages about $425, less than half of Friday’s close.\nBears expect the sky-high valuation to give investors pause eventually. Any hiccup to growth would be a negative catalyst for shares.\nWhether the stock rises or falls in the short run is anyone’s guess. For now, though, the momentum belongs to Tesla bulls.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":798,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":867391320,"gmtCreate":1633211797014,"gmtModify":1633211797410,"author":{"id":"3579657215684313","authorId":"3579657215684313","name":"Benly8","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/80f36222b1c1982caf217686d5a8431f","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Is this old news? Fed Chairman Jerome Powell is scheduled to speak Friday morning, with investors looking for clues to when(and if) the central bank will lay out a timetable for the tapering of its monthly asset purchases.\nSee:Investors look for Fed clues on tapering as Jackson Hole goes virtual because of delta variant\nRounding out action on Nymex Monday, September gasoline tacked on 4.9% to $2.12 a gallon and September heating oil rose 5.1% to nearly $2.01 a gallon.\nSeptember natural gas settled at nearly $3.95 per million British thermal units, up 2.4%.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":859,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":699056208,"gmtCreate":1639727448231,"gmtModify":1639727448485,"author":{"id":"3579657215684313","authorId":"3579657215684313","name":"Benly8","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/80f36222b1c1982caf217686d5a8431f","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Goldman very bullish on oil ","listText":"Goldman very bullish on oil ","text":"Goldman very bullish on oil","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/699056208","repostId":"2192926212","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2192926212","pubTimestamp":1639726889,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2192926212?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-12-17 15:41","market":"fut","language":"en","title":"Goldman says $100 oil possible as record demand outpaces supply","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2192926212","media":"Bloomberg","summary":"Collapse in upstream investments seen; bank’s base case at $85\nRecord gasoline, diesel, plastic use ","content":"
\n
Collapse in upstream investments seen; bank’s base case at $85
\n
Record gasoline, diesel, plastic use to be smashed in 2022/23
\n
\n
Oil at $100 a barrel cannot be ruled out in 2023 as supply additions are expected to be too slow to keep up with record demand, according to Goldman Sachs.
\n
While the bank's base forecast is for Brent to stay around US$85 next year and 2023, it could breach triple digits through either higher cost inflation for drillers, or if an unexpected supply shortfall forces prices to spike high enough to destroy demand, said Damien Courvalin, head of energy research.
\n
The upside risks underscore why Goldman remains bullish on oil even after prices have rallied more than 40 per cent this year.
