I'm trying to like RIVN. I think now is not the right timing. Ford CEO saying he will sell their 12% stake after Lock Up period is over, production issues seeming to get worse throughout 2022. Two neighbors of mine were part of the 71,000 pre-orders. Both said in a group text yesterday they cancelled after getting the email RIVN sent out about delivery being pushed to mid-2023. My guess is that 60% or more of those 71,000 pre-orders end up canceling. Those are not sales and they are fully refundable to the (non) buyer. I think the hype got into this one. NVDA has a market cap of ~$700 billion and a P/E and a P/E of 87 with EPS of 3.24. AMD has a market cap of $168 billion with an EPS of $3.24 and a P/E of 43. If AMD catches up with NVDA's valuation it should trade at 700/168x140=$583 and I doubt analysts are not aware of that fact.
