this is derived using brand's total financial value multiplied by its proportional value on its parent company's sales. this is meant to give a overview of company's brand, reputation and ability to generate value.

personally, I am glad to see $Tencent(00700)$ coming in at #5 above Facebook and $Alibaba(BABA)$ that is #7 - 2 Chinese companies listed in the top 10.

while not everyone may agree with the calculation of value, this helps me to identify the top companies and with this, a filtered list of companies that we can consider for investing. these are sorted by the various actors and some of the notable players are:

$Visa(V)$#8 overall and top from financials.

$Amazon.com(AMZN)$#1 overall and top from consumer goods & retail.

$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$leading the cars & transportation at #47
