ICBCI: 361 Degrees Soft 3Q26 for sportswear, 361 Degrees in line as growth decelerates

■ Catalyst: 361 Degrees (1361.HK) reported its 3Q26 operational update: main brand offline retail sales +mid-single-digit YoY, kids offline +mid-single-digit, and e-commerce platform GMV +mid-high-single-digit. All three channels decelerated sequentially from 2Q26.

■ Variance: Market expectation was mid-single-digit offline growth to mid-high-single-digit, so 361's result was in line to marginally soft. Conference call produced no guidance change and mgmt. flagged that the 2027 summer order book met plan.

■ Trade implication: Stay with share gainers rather than positioning for a sector re-rating. We continue to see the best risk/reward in Anta Sports (2020.HK, OUTPERFORM) where group growth is now carried by Descente/Kolon and Amer (AS/US) while the main brand only needs to hold. 361 Degrees offers the cleanest share-gain contributor narrative, and although its sell-through decelerated this quarter, we still expect it to outperform its peers.

■ 361 Degrees: in line, but a third quarter of deceleration. The 3Q26 print was solid in absolute terms yet confirms a clear slowing trend. Main brand offline, kids offline and e-commerce grew mid-single-digit, mid-single-digit and mid-high-single-digit respectively, versus mid-high-single-digit, mid-high-single-digit and high-single-digit in 2Q26 — a third consecutive sequential deceleration from the ~10% pace that held through 2025. Against FY26 guidance of 8-10% revenue and profit growth, and with 1H26 already delivered at +8.0% on both lines, 2H26 needs a stronger exit.

■ Management call: superstores and discount discipline are the offsets. Superstores are the standout: 21 net additions in the quarter took the domestic estate to 208, completing the full-year target early, while the new-customer ratio rose to ~75% from ~65% previously. Management attributes the pull to the one-price pack architecture rather than location alone, with the 30-45 age cohort now the core shopper and live-streaming at roughly 10% of superstore sales. Discounting stayed disciplined, broadly flat sequentially with inventory days at 4.5-5.0x, sell-through and attachment rates in line with 2Q26. Mid-Autumn and National Day sell-through grew positively and met plan. Management left FY26 guidance unchanged against a weak market. For the 2027 summer order fair, mgmt. said the book met group expectations and that 361 expects to outgrow the industry in 1H27. Running remains the most resilient category, basketball held up better than peers despite deeper discounting, and tennis was a new 3Q26 contributor.
