A 2012 analysis by Reuters ballparked the average Apple corporate employee as having vested over their career about $3.4 million in AAPL before taxes, today with the 10x higher share price but more employees to divide by, I would guess this number would probably be around $10-$20 million before taxes (with senior people obviously having earned more and junior having earned less). Google is known for being even more generous with stock grants. When the company went public, theNew York Timesreported that stock options made the company masseuse a multi-millionaire, among many other employees. Google and Apple created great wealth, but Microsoft (MSFT) takes the cake for employee millionaires, creating over 10,000 millionaires. As fate would have it, my dad lived in Seattle in the 1980s when Microsoft was in its early days–he turned down a job offer from Microsoft for reasons unknown.

Here in theSeeking Alphacomment section, there are more than a few shareholders who have become multi-millionaires from investing in technology stocks, especially Apple. Since 2004 (when Google went public), both Google and Apple have seen remarkable success, with Apple returning about $240 (including dividends) on a $1 investment as of my writing this, and Google returning $47. Google clearly executed its business plan well, but Apple hit a home run when they launched the best-selling product of all time (iPhone).

Data by YCharts

Their success didn't happen overnight, however, rather it accumulated over time. This gave savvy investors many chances (and second chances) to buy in and join in the party. Apple, in particular, did not see a linear path to success, the company we know today would barely be recognizable in 1997 (before the graph starts) when Steve Jobs returned to a company at the brink of bankruptcy. Google, on the other hand, executed far more quietly, with less drama, intrigue, and publicity.

Let's start our analysis by looking at valuations for both Apple and Google.

Valuation: Apple Vs. Apple essentially collects a royalty on its iPhones from Google, but how Google makes its money is interesting as well, from selling ads. Apple has discussed starting their own search engine, but they would give up the passive money Google gives them, which is pure profit for Apple and around 15-20 percent of its net income, for the entire company. One potential downside risk for both companies is that the US government declares them to be monopolies and breaks them up in one way or another. I view this as a remote possibility, but a possibility nonetheless.

According to analysts, Google's growth prospects are sunnier, with advertising revenue expected to grow more or less like clockwork over time.

Data by YCharts

Google is expected to see healthy growth in revenue and net income, and fundamentally, there are continued tailwinds for earnings.

The pandemic helped Google as advertisers found that Google, YouTube, etc. is a more effective way to advertise than traditional outlets like TV.

As more people globally get internet access and the global economies grow, Google benefits from a double tailwind.

AAPL Vs. OnSeeking Alpha, Apple has the greatest number of followers of any ticker, so I generally think that Apple is the most commonly held stock by retail investors. Retail investors have strange taste in stocks, besides Apple, they generally love automakers and airlines, as well as whatever is going up the fastest at the moment, be it Dogecoin (DOGE-USD),AMC, or GameStop(NYSE:GME). In the case of Apple, anyone who bought and held would have made a killing. Another factor that kept retail investors out of Google in the past is the high share price. Many of the best-performing stocks in the market have high share prices because they don't split their stock. With fractional shares today, this is far less of an issue.

Institutional investors like university endowments and pension funds have their own biases, but overall they tend to invest in the fastest-growing stocks.Popular stocks with institutional investors are perennial favorites like PayPal(NASDAQ:PYPL), Google, Visa(NYSE:V), and Mastercard(NYSE:MA). Google is one of the most popular stocks among institutional investors, while Apple is one of the most popular stocks with retail investors. I owned Apple stock for a long time, but with the current valuation, I'd honestly like to see it at or below $100 before I'd commit money to it. With Google, the current valuation may look high, but growth in earnings could easily make the purchase price look like a bargain 2-3 years down the road.

受机构投资者欢迎的股票是PayPal(纳斯达克股票代码:PYPL)、谷歌、Visa(纽约证券交易所股票代码:V)和万事达卡(纽约证券交易所股票代码:MA)等长期受欢迎的股票。

Apple is more volatile than Google, and this effect has increased in recent years. Apple's worst drawdown in the past decade is about 40 percent, while Google's worst drawdown is about 28 percent. Apple is a fan favorite with retail investors, while Google is popular with institutions. Both trade for slightly higher valuations than the S&P 500 as a whole, and Google is slightly more expensive relative to earnings than Apple. In the past year, if you wanted to make money, the easiest way was to buy top cloud computing stocks in thestock market. Thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, demand for cloud services skyrocketed to all-time highs. With companies focusing on digital acceleration, cloud infrastructure is vital to have. Being able to conveniently store and access company data is paramount as companies are still pushing their projects and innovations amidst these troubled times. Investors and companies seem to be aware of these trends. For instance, Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) has enjoyed a strong increase in revenue in the cloud segment as reflected from their latest financials.\nThere’s no denying that valuations are still high despite the recent pullback. Some say thesetop cloud stocksare priced to perfection. As such, when there’s a slight disappointment in their earnings report, it is enough to send these stocks sliding. But technology is sticky. Many companies are not going to uproot their software abruptly. The benefits from cloud apps will continue to manifest even after offices reopen. Thus, many of the best cloud stocks to watch will continue to benefit. Let’s put it this way. You can think of it as the growth being pulled forward, but there is still plenty of growth ahead.\nWith the increasing viability of cloud computing, it could appear to some as a profitable endeavor. However, there is no such thing as easy gains. Even the most seasoned investors would have a challenge sorting the wheat from the chaff in this ever-growing industry. Some may stay clear from cloud stocks amid the recent weakness, but others may see the dip as an opportunity to buy at discounts. If you are with the latter, do you have these cloud stocks on your watchlist in thestock market today?\nCloud Computing Stocks To Watch In 2021\n\nCloudflare Inc.(NYSE: NET)\nFastly Inc.(NYSE: FSLY)\nAmazon.com Inc.(NASDAQ: AMZN)\nTwilio Inc.(NYSE: TWLO)\n\nCloudflare\nCloudflare is possibly one of the most exciting cloud companies to look out for if you are investing for the long term. For those unfamiliar with the business, Cloudflare’s aim is to build a better and safer internet. Some of the company’s potential growth drivers include serverless computing, internet of things (IoT), and 5G. These present massive opportunities for the company to tap into. With more businesses moving their operations to the cloud, Cloudflare could see explosive growth in this burgeoning cybersecurity industry. That’s because of its role in safeguarding and speeding up the internet.\nSource: TD Ameritrade TOS\n“Firing on all cylinders, we’ve already announced or delivered more than 100 products and capabilities this year. There’s no slowing down as we continue to deliver business-critical offerings and displace point solutions with Cloudflare’s robust global network.”-Matthew Prince, CEO, and co-founder.\nThe company reported its first-quarter earnings on Thursday, in which revenue rose 51% year-over-year to $138.1 million. The network security and content delivery network (CDN) provider also sees strong large customer growth, with a record addition of roughly 120 large customers in the quarter. More importantly, large customers now represent greater than 50% of revenue. Following these earnings, the NET stock is now trading 7.14% higher in pre-market trading as of 7.09 a.m. ET. With such strong fundamentals, should investors buy NET stock right now?\n[Read More] Best Tech Stocks To Buy Now? 4 Names To Know\nFastly\nFastly was one hot stock to watch in 2020. The company is a key player in the CDN space. Arguably, the real trick up Fastly’s sleeves are its edge computing capabilities. But the reason many investors are paying attention to Fastly right now is that FSLY stock was tumbling, closing nearly 30% lower on Thursday’s intraday trading. This came as the edge-computing specialist came up slightly short of estimates in its first-quarter earnings report. Separately, CFO Adriel Lares stepping down as CFO also spooked investors.\nSource: TD Ameritrade TOS\nBut let’s take a step back and digest these earnings carefully. Do you think FSLY stock is being overly punished here? Fastly’s revenue came in 35% in the quarter to $84.9 million, which was only slightly short of estimates at $85.1 million. While the net retention rate was slightly lower than its previous quarter, its total customer count actually increased from 2,084 in the fourth quarter to 2,207. Sure, the company may have missed top and bottom-line estimates, but the difference was only marginal.\nAccording to CEO Joshua Bixby, the company observed that many of the trends that emerged last year appear to have become permanent, even as the economy reopens. He believes Fastly is uniquely positioned to serve companies as they adjust to this new reality. Thus, would you consider buying FSLY stock on the dip?\nRead More\n\nHot Stocks To Buy? 4 Growth Stocks To Watch\nMost Active Stocks To Buy Today? 4 Renewable Energy Stocks To Consider\n\nAmazon.com\nAmazon is a multinational technology company that focuses on e-commerce and cloud computing. The company has been one of the most influential economic forces in the world and is also one of the world’s most valuable brands. AMZN stock surged to an all-time high of $3,554 before retreating to a current level of around $3,300. That initially seems like a “buy the rumor, sell the news” kind of trade for traders, especially after a strong earnings beat.\nSource: TD Ameritrade TOS\nAn interesting fact is, not only are traders taking some profit, CEO Jeff Bezos this week sold nearly $2 billion worth of AMZN stock. He previously said he’d sell about $1 billion in AMZN stock each year to fund his space exploration company, Blue Origin.\nIn case you have missed it, the company reported net sales of $108.5 billion in the first quarter, a 44% increase year-over-year.

Apple has discussed starting their own search engine, but they would give up the passive money Google gives them, which is pure profit for Apple and around 15-20 percent of its net income, for the entire company.

Here in theSeeking Alphacomment section, there are more than a few shareholders who have become multi-millionaires from investing in technology stocks, especially Apple. In the case of Apple, anyone who bought and held would have made a killing. Another factor that kept retail investors out of Google in the past is the high share price. Many of the best-performing stocks in the market have high share prices because they don't split their stock. With fractional shares today, this is far less of an issue.\nInstitutional investors like university endowments and pension funds have their own biases, but overall they tend to invest in the fastest-growing stocks.Popular stocks with institutional investors are perennial favorites like PayPal(NASDAQ:PYPL), Google, Visa(NYSE:V), and Mastercard(NYSE:MA). Google is one of the most popular stocks among institutional investors, while Apple is one of the most popular stocks with retail investors. I owned Apple stock for a long time, but with the current valuation, I'd honestly like to see it at or below $100 before I'd commit money to it. With Google, the current valuation may look high, but growth in earnings could easily make the purchase price look like a bargain 2-3 years down the road.\nApple is more volatile than Google, and this effect has increased in recent years. Apple's worst drawdown in the past decade is about 40 percent, while Google's worst drawdown is about 28 percent. I'd give an advantage to Google here.\nConclusion\nApple and Google are both popular tech stocks. Apple is a fan favorite with retail investors, while Google is popular with institutions. Both trade for slightly higher valuations than the S&P 500 as a whole, and Google is slightly more expensive relative to earnings than Apple. The analyst consensus is that Google has better growth prospects than Apple at the moment, and I agree with this. Apple has returned more than Google has since Google became publicly traded in 2004. Apple stock is more volatile than Google and has historically seen more drawdowns and threats to its business.\nOverall, I find Google a buy at current prices and would wait for a pullback to $100 to buy Apple.","news_type":1,"symbols_score_info":{"GOOGL":0.9,"GOOG":0.9,"AAPL":0.9}},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":634,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":198495021,"gmtCreate":1620978252863,"gmtModify":1634194815192,"author":{"id":"3581757019260170","authorId":"3581757019260170","name":"Fei99","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/2e3173edce6ea237022134d5d1691222","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581757019260170","authorIdStr":"3581757019260170"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good news","listText":"Good news","text":"Good news","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/198495021","repostId":"2135767756","repostType":2,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":577,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":193535581,"gmtCreate":1620798071343,"gmtModify":1631886886788,"author":{"id":"3581757019260170","authorId":"3581757019260170","name":"Fei99","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/2e3173edce6ea237022134d5d1691222","crmLevel":11,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3581757019260170","authorIdStr":"3581757019260170"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Altimeter Growth Corp.(AGC)$coming back","listText":"$Altimeter Growth Corp.(AGC)$coming back","text":"$Altimeter Growth Corp.(AGC)$coming back","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/db81399e692c97b899aa2d5543cdf58a","width":"1080","height":"1920"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/193535581","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":778,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
