I keep hearing in the news that the current vaccine may be somewhat effective on Omicron, But if the Moderna CEO says it may not be as effective, and he got his information from the scientist who generated the original vaccine know exactly if it will be effective. Basically, they had to manipulate the gene structure of the spike protein to make the vaccine effective against the original/delta/delta plus.
Remember, there were only max of 4 mutations on the Delta variant. But now you have 50 mutations on the spike protein. You need a new vaccine to cover ALL of the 50 mutations (50 specific gene mappings). It's just like playing the lottery. If your specific lottery sequence of numbers is covered by the vaccine, then you win the lottery, but if it doesn't, then you lose (or another words the vaccine doesn't work). Now multiply that by 50 different sequence of numbers. Only if all 50 sequence numbers are covered by the vaccine, will the vaccine work fully. If only 30 of the 50 sequence numbers are covered, then the vaccine has 60% effectiveness.$Moderna, Inc.(MRNA)$
