Ocugen (OCGN +1.1%) plans to sell 100M doses of its ** vaccine in the United States this year, Reuters reported on Monday quoting the company's chief executive officer Shankar Musunuri.

Musunuri said the company aims to launch the Indian-developed vaccine in the U.S. in Q2 2021, initially with imported shots before shifting production domestically, the report claimed.

Ocugen has an agreement with India's Bharat Biotech to commercialize its vaccine in the U.S.

The whole-virion inactivated vaccine, Covaxin, has shown high efficacy trend against ** with significant immunogenicity against emerging strains, Bharat Biotech Chairman and Managing Director Krishna Ella has said.

** vaccines from Pfizer (PFE +1.2%)/BioNTech (BNTX +4.2%), Moderna (MRNA +3.1%) and Johnson and Johnson (JNJ +0.5%) have already been authorised in the United States for emergency use.

In early January, Bharat Biotech won the emergency approval COVAXIN from the Indian government.
