Bank of America (BAC), Blackstone (BX), Citi (C) and Morgan Stanley (MS) will lead a $63 billion transaction to deploy AI compute capacity for Anthropic using Broadcom's (AVGO) technology, Broadcom said late Monday in a statement.
The transaction will be executed through a newly formed special purpose vehicle that will purchase Broadcom's XPU AI accelerators and networking solutions and lease them to Anthropic, the company said.
Bank of America, Citi and Morgan Stanley will arrange the first-lien financing, while Blackstone will be the sole provider of the committed portion of the second-lien financing.
Broadcom said it is offering residual value support to the SPV equivalent to the amount of the first-lien financing. Deliveries are expected to begin in calendar 2027.
