MT Newswires Live2025-10-24

US equity futures were higher pre-bell Friday as traders looked ahead to a key inflation metric for clues on the Federal Reserve's next move on monetary policy.

Dow Jones Industrial Average futures were up 0.2%, S&P 500 futures were 0.3% higher, and Nasdaq futures were up 0.5%.

Oil prices were higher, with front-month global benchmark North Sea Brent crude up 0.7% at $66.44 per barrel and US West Texas Intermediate crude 0.7% higher at $62.20 per barrel.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics' September consumer price index, scheduled for release at 8:30 am ET, is expected to show a 0.4% uptick in prices to match August's gain, according to estimates compiled by Bloomberg.

The University of Michigan's consumer sentiment index, slated for 10 am ET, is seen unrevised from the flash report at 55.0 in the final reading for October.
