E.ON SE with its headquarter in Germany is a global provider of specialized energy solutions. E.ON generated about EUR 116 billion of sales in 2015. E.ON's strategy is "Empowering Customers. Shaping markets.". In response to a fundamentally altered market environment, E.ON divided into two distinctly focused and publically listed companies. As per 1 January 2016, the conventional generation and energy trading businesses were combined into a distinct company, Uniper, which focuses on the classic energy world. E.ON spun off the majority of Uniper to E.ON's shareholders and Uniper has been indepentendly listed since 12 September 2016. The new E.ON focuses on the new energy world with the core businesses of energy networks, customer solutions, and renewables. E.ON is a member of the DAX Index (top thirty German companies), as well as of several Dow Jones Indices.
